13 Reasons Why

In the book “Thirteen Reasons Why” there is a girl, Hannah Baker, who ends up killing herself. Before she does, she records tapes about her story. Mainly the story is on how people impacted her in a negative way that drove her to suicide. When the person receives the tapes, Hannah says that if you don’t listen to them she has someone who will post the tapes to the internet. So my question to you is, if that would ever happen to you and you got tapes similar to that what would you do? How would you feel? Would you listen to them or throw them away and call Hannah Baker’s bluff?

Journal Response #5-13 Reasons Why

I’m in now done with the book “13 Reasons Why.” I loved the book a lot. The plot of story is very saddening but still beautiful. The book drew me in like only a few have. I couldn’t put it down, even though I did. The author does a really  good job in describing the events the girl went through. the ending is very shocking to me. But I would recommend this book to others and I would definitely read it again and again.

Journal Response #4-13 Reasons Why

Towards the ending of the book, Hannah baker explains on how she impacted someone else’s life. Throughout the whole book she is saying how people impacted her life and made her suicidal. In this final part, she explains how she feels guilty for allowing two bad things to happen to innocent people. Although one of those people was someone in her tapes, she still believes she didn’t deserve it. When she was telling these on the tapes, I was shocked because I wasn’t expecting her to talk on how she impacted someone else’s life.

Journal Response #3-13 Reasons Why

In the book "13 Reasons Why" by Jay Asher Hannah baker has reached the tapes where she talks about the main character and narrator of the story. She is explaining how Clay, the narrator made her feel. She says that clay was the only one she felt she could trust. That was a feeling she hasn’t had in a long time. As Clay listens to these, he feels like screaming. He thinks to himself that he regrets not taking the step right away in to being Hannah’s friend.

Journal Response #2-13 Reasons Why

I have read more into the book “13 Reasons Why” by Jay Asher. The girl who killed herself, Hannah Baker has made these tapes that explain why she killed herself. She explains her life to be like a snowball, when it starts going downhill it gets bigger. She has talked about the people that have made her think of suicide on these tapes she records. So far she has mentioned numerous of people and how they made her reputation into something that wasn’t even true and made her seem like she was a big slut. I enjoy the book because it has almost a real life situation. Although the story itself is sad I still like the book.

Jounral Response #1-13 Reasons Why

In the book 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher a girl named Hannah has killed herself. Before she dies, she decides to record these tapes and give it to the people that caused her to suicide. The narrator of the story doesn’t know why he’s given these tapes because he believes that he didn’t have a reason why she killed herself. So far she has talked about four people that drove her into suicide. I enjoy the book right now, because once I started hearing the tapes and listening to her story I felt like I knew her and wanted to know why. The dialogue of the story is kind of hard to understand because it goes from what Clay Jensen, the narrator, is seeing and back to what Hannah is saying. But other than that, it's a great book.
